faith formation

Our Middle School Religious Education Program is designed for youth in grades 6-8 and focuses on the teachings of the Catholic Church. 6th and 7th grade classes meet on Wednesday evenings from 7-8PM in the upper level of the Christ the King School. 8th grade classes meet on Wednesday evenings in the Youth Center.

We have a specific curriculum for each grade level and we are using books, workbooks and other supplemental material from Harcourt Religion Publishers and Ascension Press. We supplement this curriculum with units on Theology oft he Body, Advent Service Projects, the Mass, and other topical interests of the students relating to their faith and our parish community.

In addition to our traditional curriculum, we meet three times per year as an entire middle school group in the CK gym to spend a “youth group-style” hour together. This hour is planned and implemented by a select group of high school juniors and seniors in our Life Teen program. This in an opportunity to faith share and have fun in a large group setting. All middle school youth in the CK community are invited to these fun nights with a goal of building relationships within our parish between our CK school students and our religious education students. These “fun nights” are referred to as MSMFN nights. (Middle School Mandatory Fun Nights)

Our dedicated middle school religious education volunteers strive to build, foster and deepen our students’ individual relationship with Jesus Christ, their Catholic faith, family, and our Catholic community.
